Primarily a talented jazz singer with an appealing voice, Toni Merrill arrived on the scene in 1957 with the jazz album "Songs From The Heart Of Toni Merrill," which appears to be the only full-length album she recorded. A former student at the American Theater Wing, Toni was an 18-year-old veteran of television work when she made her nightclub debut at New York's famed Copacabana. Embarking on a conquest of Europe, Merrill was featured on British television and starred in the leading nightclubs of London, Paris, and Rome. In 1958 a lone single appeared, this time in less of a jazz and more of a teen-pop vein. "Ba Dum, Ba Dum" b/w "You Can Make Things Right" was originally released on the New York based Safari label, and is presented here newly remastered.
