This was written while fly fishing in Wyoming and being trapped in a canyon while a Mountain Lion appeared eye level with me about 20 yards away. The original title was called "Scaredy Cat." The previous year I encountered a Black Bear in the same location, and the year before that was trapped in a forest fire (Spawning the song "Tent Song" off my first album). So, perhaps it's an unlucky fishing spot. Or, perhaps the best place to face my fears. The song becomes a prayer for getting out alive and getting a second chance. All the things I might say or do, or wish I could say. The relief of narrowly escaping death, and the thrill of a rebirth. Could be a goodbye letter, or fox hole prayer to god I recorded this on 6 different pianos, really adamant to find the perfect John Lennon heavy slap back vibe for the song. In the end it was Rob Barbato's piano in his East Side studio that was the winner, and Todd Hannigan mixed it perfectly. Mat Davidson of Twain played a secondary part on the high end of the piano that took the song to another level, along with his flute.
