NEW MINI-LP PAPERSLEEVE GATEFOLD REPLICA - A new CD reissue of one of the least known and most underrated albums by Bo Diddley, Let Me Pass. This masterpiece was only originally released in the UK and the Netherlands in 1965, at the time of Diddley's second tour in the UK. As the popularity of electric blues in Great Britain (championed by Alexis Korner'sBlues Incorporated and their spin-off outfits, Cyril Davies & His Rhythm & Blues All-Stars and the Rolling Stones) soared at the start of the Sixties, Diddley and his cohorts - Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Howlin' Wolf- suddenly found themselves elevated to the position of demi-gods. An exclusive licensing and distribution deal negotiated by Chicago's Chess label and the UK's Pye Records in the early '60s finally gave UK record-buyers access to the impressive recorded legacy of numerous US musical legends. Since then, Let Me Pass has become one of the most sought after records among Diddley collectors.
