Recorded at Sage & Sound Studios Hollywood California, June 7, 1977, this album is a vibrant and indomitable collection of modern, post-bop and latin influenced jazz by the elusive and revered Hadley Caliman. Showcasing Caliman's formidable talent during a transitional period in jazz, these original compositions centre around Caliman's tenor sax, characterized by a slightly sharp yet inviting tone and fantastic phrasing. Considered as one of a two-part album set taken from his time with Catalyst Records, 'Projecting' and this album 'Celebration' encapsulate a wonderful period in this esteemed musician's career. Despite it's echoes of Coltrane, Caliman's vibrant, virile playing is distinctly his own, and captures some of the most creative years of his extensive career.
