The present release features a series of works for oboe and accordion by six different contemporary composers. They have been written on the request of the oboist Enrico Calcagni for the duo he forms with the accordionist Maurizio de Luca. Despite the difference in each composer's style, these works have in common the same plain and comprehensible language, making them very pleasant to listen to. Enrico Calcagni was born in Ravenna, Italy on 6th August 1965. In 1986 he earned his diploma in oboe, with top marks, from the F. E. Dall'Abaco Conservatory of Verona, under the guidance of Maestro Diego Dini Ciacci. During the same year, he won the International Contest for admission to the School of Higher Musical Perfection of Saluzzo, where he attended the courses held by M. Bourgue, A. Denis, B. de Rosa, G.. Garbarino, S. Celibidache and other famous teachers.
