Consolidated is an American collective, formed in San Francisco in 1988. They were notable for their left-wing political activism and politically radical lyrics, as well as their innovative sound collages that blended industrial, hip-hop, hard rock and funk music. Their music often focused on vegetarianism, women's rights, animal rights, the fight against racism and homophobia, unity of oppression, World War II and the Holocaust, plus the dangers of capitalism and the evils of American nationalism. Adam Sherburne, Mark Pistel and Philip Steir have embodied a unique creative vision in search of knowledge that will enable them to improve the quality of their lives and those around them.
