Premiere recording! Autographed score conserved at the Naples Library used as the source for this recording. Giovanni Paisiello, a prolific Classical-era composer (nearly 100 operas alone!) experienced great success in his lifetime in both Italy and Imperial Russia. The Orchestra Barocca 'la Confraternita de' Musici' is directed from the harpsichord by Cosimo Prontera. Sung in Italian. Liner notes in Italian and English.
