Digitally re-mastered edition of this 1983 release from the L.A. Metal band. Named after Norwegian-American born man Don Dokken, the band got it's first major break playing a series of club dates in Germany in 1981 where they were spotted by feted Scorpions producer Dieter Dierks, who enlisted Don to guide ailing Scorpions singer Klaus Miene on their Blackout album. Taking advantage of Dierks offer to record some demos the band scored a European deal with the fast rising Carrere label. Their debut album - featuring guitarist George Lynch, drummer Mick Brown and bassist Juan Croucier - was recorded at Dierks Studio in Cologne, utilizing up and coming German born producer Michael Wagener. Issued in 1981, Breaking the Chains sold reasonably well in Europe, paving the way for Elektra Records to sign the band and release this superior, revised and remixed version in North America two years later. 16 page full color booklet 3,500 word essay, enhanced artwork, unpublished photos and new interview with Don Dokken.
