This release opens in Spain with Maurice Ravel's magnificent Bol'ro, known for it's feverish, hypnotic rhythm and massive orchestral sound. Bol'ro, Ravel's most famous piece epitomizes his preoccupation with restyling and reinventing dance movements. The listener is then taken to Baghdad circa 1071 A.D. with a medley from the classic 1953 musical Kismet constructed entirely around the music of celebrated Russian composer Alexander Borodin. The listener journeys from Baghdad back to Spain with Suite Nos. 1 and 2 from Georges Bizet's immensely popular opera, Carmen. Erich Kunzel conducts the Cincinnati Pops on this dynamic recording originally released on Telarc Records. This release contains Ultra High Definition 32-Bit Mastering & UHD 32-Bit Pure Flection Manufacturing Process. Ultra High Definition 32-Bit Mastering is a proprietary ultra-high-quality mastering system. This disc is playable in all CD Players.
