Anton Kuerti (born 1938) has performed with leading orchestras and in recitals in 40 countries. In Canada he has appeared in 150 communities and played with every professional orchestra, including 41 concerts with the Toronto Symphony. Kuerti has recorded all the Beethoven concertos and sonatas, the Brahms and Schumann concertos, and all the Schubert sonatas. He won the prestigious Leventritt Award in 1957. Other awards include: Officer of the Order of Canada, Banff Centre National Arts Award, the Schumann Prize of the Schumann Gesellschaft, and Canada's Governor General's Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award. This release features Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Concertos Nos. 1 an 2 and his Capriccio Brilliante in B major.
