Here's another of those projects that only Bear Family does - and does so well. Frankie Starr was a country singer who learned his trade in the Thirties and settled in Phoenix. He started recording for 4-Star in 1950 and continued with Rangeland, Decca, Baron, Sims, and other small labels. He cut wonderfully spirited, raunchy country boogie music. The songs include Your Daddy's Looped Again, My Woman Ain't Pretty But She Don't Swear None, Elevator Baby and Elevator Boogie. Oh yes, Frankie Starr also discovered Marty Robbins, and this set is rounded out with four titles Marty recorded for Frankie in 1948, Our Love Is At An End, For A Lifetime, I've Lost My Love And You and I Want Somebody To Love.
