A great 8 piece soul funk band from the early 1970's, Gentleman And Their Ladies had a sound very reminiscent of Jr.. Walker & the All Stars but with a distinctive Philly Soul vibe, no doubt thanks to Philly Soul pioneer George Kerr who produced the album. The members of the band were Bobby Johnson (lead vocals); Maryland Ethridge (guitar); Jimmy Reed (organ); Richie Cowell (sax); Ronnie Johnson (bass); Danny Mitchell (drums); Gypsy Marie Griggs (vocals); Jeanette Copper (vocals). Originally released in 1974, "Party Time" hits the funky groove from the very first opening notes of "Party Bump" to the very last strains of "You're Gonna Need Somebody to Love You." Finally available in the digital domain, all selections newly remastered.
