The institute is part of the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Germany, (ZKM) which also includes the Museum for Contemporary Art, the Media Museum, a Media Library and the Institute for Visual Media. Guest artists from all over the world are invited to work in the music studios to realize specific projects.
