The Handel Company with the Handel's Company Choir under Rainer Johannes Homburg present five Homilus cantatas for Advent, New Year and Epiphany. Gottfried August Homilius left to posterity an extensive oeuvre, including motets, church cantatas, and oratorios, among others. In their day, his works were very popular and extraordinarily well circulated. 2014 marks the tricentennial of Homilus' birth. 'the best church composer' (J. F. Reichardt) of his time.
