The Soul Queen from New Orleans’ extremely rare but legendary album produced by the equally legendary Jerry Williams Jr. (aka Swamp Dogg) in 1970 during a period that Swamp Dogg’s creative talents were at their peak. To quote Irma: “He was one weird dude, but he knew how to take care of business.” Swamp played piano, sang background vocals and wrote all but one song. The album finally came out in 1973 but never got the distribution it deserved. Today it is considered a soul classic and one of Irma’s most unique albums. Recorded in Macon, Georgia, the late great Duane Allman plays guitar on 3 tracks (“You’re The Dog,” “Coming From Behind” and “Wish Someone Would Care”). All selections have been newly remastered.
