180-Gram Vinyl Limited Edition. Produced in 1962, this British biographical adventure film based on the life of T. E. Lawrence was directed by David Lean and produced by Sam Spiegel. It stars Peter O'Toole in the title role and is widely considered one of the greatest and most influential films in the history of cinema. It won seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Substantially Original Score. Spiegel had engaged Broadway composer Richard Rodgers to write the film's soundtrack and young French composer Maurice Jarre to orchestrate it. Reportedly, Rodgers did not review any footage to compose themes for the film, and Lean and Spiegel were both extremely dissatisfied with his work and asked Jarre to score the entire film, a task the composer completed in just six weeks.
