Digitally remastered edition. Jim & Jesse were an American bluegrass music duo consisting of brothers Jim and Jesse McReynolds. The two were born and raised in Carfax, a community near Coeburn, Virginia. Their grandfather, Charles McReynolds had led the band The Bull Mountain Moonshiners, who recorded at the famous Bristol Sessions in 1927. Jesse played the mandolin with a unique cross-picking and split-string playing method, and Jim sang and played guitar. They played with their backing band The Virginia Boys which over the years has included a who's who of famous musicians such as fiddler Vassar Clements, banjo great Allen Shelton, Jesse's oldest son, the late Keith McReynolds, Randall Franks and many more. This collection of American Truck Driving songs emerged from the early '60s truck driving culture in the USA recorded by the likes of Dave Dudley, Red Sovine, and Jim and Jessie amongst many others. Truck driving music became an inspiration and was recorded by many American country rock bands in the early 70's such as Commander Cody And The Lost Planet Airmen, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, The Grateful Dead, Flying Burrito Brothers and many others.
