Joe Liggins' guitarist brother, Jimmy had just a handful of hits compared to his more distinguished brother whose career highlights can be heard on his Jasmine CDs. Jimmy's raw R&B sound was distinctly different to the smooth almost urbane sounds of his elder brother but both of the brothers have key recordings that give them equal stature amongst influential R&B performers of the 1940s and 50s. - Jimmy's discs present a sound which is actually far closer to the spirit of rock and roll than many of the discs cited as being influences on the rock and roll explosion. - Features his classic drinking songs, 'Drunk' and 'I Ain't Drunk' plus many more great tracks. - This collection is an absolute must for all blues and R&B fans.
