2013 sophomore album from the Nashville-based musician.. Well-known within the Nashville music community for his many talents, Rhoads is a songwriter, performer, producer, and composer. During his time as band leader and performer with the popular traveling ensemble, Ten Out of Tenn, Rhoads performed with talented musicians including Joy Williams of the Civil Wars, Mikky Ekko, Ashley Monroe of the Pistol Annies, Butterfly Boucher, Gabe Dixon, Katie Herzig, and Trent Dabbs. Rhoads has applied his proficiency for musical composition to the Wilderness, despite his lack of formal music theory training. In creating the Wilderness, Rhoads worked with producer Cason Cooley and has come away with an album that blends classical string arrangements, Pop hooks, Hip Hop beats, and native rhythmic chants all in one eclectic music experience. According to Rhoads, the album, "... is about grappling with mankind's feeling of abandonment in this universe, and the hope that against all odds, we can, and will, be illuminated."
