A distinctively unique song stylist with few peers, the great Linda Jones would have been a house-hold name had she not succumbed in 1972 to a lifelong battle with diabetes at the tender age of 28. Even sadder is the fact that she died at the tail end of a successful stint at New York's famed Apollo Theater. Few soul singers today can match the intensity or sheer technical prowess of Linda Jones. Linda was still in the process of cementing a following among R&B music buyers which had started with her now-classic Top 5 R&B and Top 30 1967 pop hit "Hypnotized." Just weeks before her untimely demise, Linda had in fact scored her biggest hit in five years with an unforgettable version of the Impressions' "For Your Precious Love." Presented here are the classic last recordings including "For Your Precious Love," "Dancing in the Street" and "I Can't Make It Alone." All selections have been newly remastered.
