The brothers Frankie and Lewis Lymon were from the Harlem district of New York City, which was a low social-economic community, that was bursting with musical talent, and music was the dream and the opportunity for them to escape from adversity. Each brother fronted a vocal group, Frankie was with The Teenagers and Lewis recorded with The Teenchords. The album focuses on their up-tempo rockers which gained added appeal from the cream of New York City studio musicians being used on the sessions and their presence added an extra dynamic to the recordings. The recordings of Frankie and Lewis Lymon, The Harlem Hotshots Koko Mojo (KM-CD-149) is the sound of the city as a new musical era was in nurture. From Frankie Lymon solo and with The Teenagers you will hear the up-tempo hits which include; Why Do Fools Fall In Love, I Promise To Remember, Goody Goody, Diana, and many more. Lewis Lymon and The Teenchords rockers include his New York City hit, Your Last Chance, the joyous, I'm So Happy (Tra-La-La-La-La-La), and a play on his brothers hit, I'm Not Too Young To Fall In Love. The album is annotated by well-known Dee Jay and face on the music scene Mark Armstrong, who has been Dee Jaying since his early teen years. The concept is brought visually to life by design artist Urban Zotel, who is additionally a working musician, and the recordings are remastered at The Studio That Time Forgot, El Paso Texas.
