An extremely rare collector's item. Virtually forgotten live recordings of the legendary Miles Davis and John Coltrane! This CD comes from two radio broadcasts made in Miles Davis' hometown, Saint Louis, Missouri during the period prior to John Coltrane's first departure from the band, and marks one of the paradoxically few recorded testimonies of Miles performing in Saint Louis. The rarity of this document and the high intensity of the music make this an essential issue for all Miles and Trane fans. The quintet demonstrates it's high level of performance throughout the recordings, "swinging like crazy," as the MC clearly states at one point of the programs. Jazz Factory. 2006.
