These stunning new performances are a must for all swing era fans. Hear the debut of arrangements from the Artie Shaw archive, never recorded during his lifetime. After their sold out Benny Goodman tributes, Dan Levinson, Hot House's 2017 Clarinetist of the year, rejoins James Langton's New York All-Star Big Band and steps into the shoes of another jazz great, Artie Shaw. Levinson's outstanding clarinet work is matched by a band featuring New York City's finest swing jazz talent. These unheard charts were written in 1938-9 by arrangers including Jerry Gray, Joe Garland, Eddie Durham and Artie Shaw and include songs as performed by Billie Holiday with Shaw's 1938 band. American author Will Friedwald wrote, "I've been to dozens, if not hundreds of Benny Goodman tributes. This was the best. Ever. Just amazingly great."
