The Orion Saxophone Quartet is Jeff Benedict, Adrian Williams, Ken Foerch and Charlie Richard (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones). The quartet is established as one of the premiere chamber music groups of it's type. They have recorded two classical CDs, Musica Latina and The Orion Saxophone Quartet with Harvey Pittel. Among Friends, featuring guest soloist Gary Foster, represents the group's first jazz recording, and it clearly shows their versatility. Among Friends features repertoire by a panoply of jazz greats including Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins, Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, Lennie Tristano, Clare Fischer, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny.
