Contains the complete original album Oscar Peterson Plays the George Gershwin Songbook by the Oscar Peterson Trio with Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen. For this extended edition, we have added further Gershwin compositions recorded by Peterson on various occasions, including all of the tunes from a George Gershwin songbook attempt made in 1952 by the Peterson trio with Brown and Barney Kessel on guitar, and originally issued as Oscar Peterson Plays George Gershwin. A live version of "It Ain't Necessarily So" by the trio of Peterson-Brown-Thigpen taped in 1960 has been added as a further bonus.
