Vinyl LP pressing. Release containing alternate versions of tracks found on the iconic Machine Gun album. Machine Gun is the second album by jazz saxophonist Peter Brötzmann, released on the Bro label in 1968, later reissued on the FMP label in 1971. Machine Gun was an octet recording often listed among the most notable free jazz albums. Originally the LP was self-produced (under his own BRO record label imprint) and sold at gigs, but it was later marketed by Free Music Production (FMP), In 2007, Chicago-based Atavistic Records reissued the Machine Gun recording. Brötzmann is a German artist, free jazz saxophonist, and clarinetist. He is among the most important European free jazz musicians. His rough timbre is easily recognized on his many recordings.
