'The bastard kings of horror rawkillbilly return with their bloodiest offering to date! Completely demented and not for the squeamish!' - Aaron Lupton, Rue Morgue Magazine 'Ever wonder what the soundtrack of a trip to hell would be like? Well, I think it would sound a little something like Psycho Charger's third album, Spawn of the Psycho, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Just imagine yourself cruising down Hell's Highway in your hot rod. This is what would be playing.' - HorrorHound Magazine 'F*CK!!! This is some serious next-level shit!'- Audio Ephemera OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: Psycho Charger is proud to announce their latest release, 'Spawn of the Psycho'. Imagine, if Robert Rodriguez released the ultimate grind house movie, Spawn of the Psycho could very well be the soundtrack. The band refers to the collection of songs that appear on Spawn as 'Grindhouse Rawk'. Spawn of the Psycho is the follow-up to the previous Psycho Charger independent releases Curse of the Psycho and Mark of the Psycho, as well as the recently released 7' vinyl record 'I Kissed The Joker'/'Batman Theme'. These releases were very well received, and continue to generate new fans and new sales. 'Spawn' was recorded in Los Angeles at Funeral Home Studios, and along with band founder Jimmy Psycho, it introduces a new line-up that includes Danny Dangerous on bass and Al Diablo on drums. 'Spawn' comes in at 11 tracks, with a guest appearance by The High Priest of the Church of Satan, Magus Peter H. Gilmore, who provides a powerful reading of the poem 'Boldly Stand' by Ragnar Redbeard (from the book 'Might is Right') on the opening track. Also making an appearance on Spawn is the return of original bass player, Mr. Chris Piranha, on the track 'Sanguinary'. In addition, Courtney Cruz (founder of L.A.'s 'Naughtiest and Nerdiest' Burlesque Troupe The Devil's Playground), not only appears on the album artwork, but provides vocals on the song 'Death Star Baby', a song inspired by her 'Sexy Stormtrooper' burlesque routine. Jimmy Psycho, the "main mind" behind Psycho Charger, says about the new release: 'Without a doubt, this is by far the best thing we've ever done. We've always thought of ourselves as a 'Horror Rock' band more than anything else, and we are always looking to work different elements into every release we do. We are mindful to not release the same sounding record every time. This record rocks, twangs, grooves, and grinds. You can drink, dance, fight, and f*ck to this record all night long. The relocation of Psycho Charger to Los Angeles (from N.Y.C.) really brought about a new vibe and new influences to the band. This is a great, diverse collection of songs.' Spawn of the Psycho is being slated for a September 2014 release, and will be released as a limited edition 'Transparent Blood Red Vinyl' 12' vinyl record. The release will also be available on all digital download sites worldwide. The cover artwork is bound to spark a controversy as it depicts an 8-month pregnant Courtney Cruz completely nude and covered head-to-toe in blood. In addition to the new originals, there is an incredible surf instrumental version of the Judas Priest song 'The Ripper', as well as the Elvis Presley song 'Burning Love', which has been the long-time live performance closing song for the band.
