Genre: Blues

Rosco Gordon - wow!! This man was primitive, rocking, raw and just downright exciting. When American Blues artists started to visit Europe, the elusive Rosco was at the top of everybody's wish list. It took a few years but it happened. Once in the UK (persuaded by JSP) the priority was to get him into the recording studio. Rosco is joined by master guitarist Wayne Bennet who is simply magnificent - there are some stunning solos here. Here is the result, the original release only ever went to a single pressing of 1000, so it's unlikely many people have heard this - another of those JSP exclusive recordings that seem to sound better with every passing year. There are three bonus tracks from a few years later when Rosco returned to headline a festival and he is backed by that other guitar legend, Otis Grand, and his superb band (check out the magnificent studio sets Otis did for JSP with Guitar Shorty, Phillip Walker and Joe Houston).
