Dithmarschen can do much more than cabbage - insiders have known that for a long time, of course. And it was already like this 400 years ago: The region in Schleswig-Holstein had achieved prosperity thanks to the very fertile marshland and was a focal point for art and culture. For a long time, the school rector Thomas Selle worked here, who was also a church musician and attracted attention with his own demanding compositions. Selle himself had already compiled manuscripts of these works in extensive collections. Monika Mandelartz has now painstakingly studied the sources for years and has newly arranged and recorded selected pieces - works by Selle and colleagues are played on historical instruments, played by teachers and students together, just as it was customary 400 years ago. Many of the pieces can be heard on record for the first time, making them a real addition to the repertoire.
