Sleazy McQueen is one of the snazzier monikers of Laurin Fedora. A Rough Guide is the debut release for the Florida based beat master, who like things deep, just as we do at Hairy Claw. Things open up with the Kink mix of Naked in full effect. It sounds like a soundtrack to an alien invasion for the first half before the squelchy and slightly wonky synths rotate the oscillators to full effect. This Time keeps the drums four miles deep but adds on slabs of discordant waveforms. Goody Gumdrops drops in smatterings of portamento blasted arppegiator lines and Negative Question is all about the Handclaps and pulsating bass. A fine Rough Guideand debut for anyone to be proud of.
