My music comes from the inspiration I get from the Southwest,Va. And NW North Carolina mountains that surround me. I compose thematic melodies using the 5 string banjo supported by guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, violin, cello, and percussion. Tony Ellis, banjo player (w/ Steve Martin on David Letterman Show and 'Give Me The Banjo' on PBS ) calls my album an ' AMAZING compilation of new banjo music .' World renown musicians, Zan McLeod ( Paul Winter projects) and Matt Combs( Hartford String Band) provide the guitar and strings on most tracks giving the music a chamber like feel while at the same time, a progressive style. Canadian fiddler, Erynn Marshall adds her great style to a bluegrass tune on the album while Tim Moore's percussion gives depth and funk to a few of the tunes. I try to tell stories through my music so that those who listen will be taken away from their worries and will be able to, just for a spell, visit a gentle place in their hearts and minds.
