Formed in New Rochelle, New York in the early 1960s, The Cordials made their first appearance at New Rochelle High School in 1963. On the same bill were the soon to be famous Four Seasons. Before that night, the members of the group were split up into two different groups know as Denny and The Aragons, and The Cordials. Eventually, five of the boys from both groups formed one group and retained the name The Cordials - consisting of Dennis Lane (lead vocals), Jimmy McSweeney (2nd tenor), Charlie Balascio (bass), Kenny Wessel (baritone) and Bob Stewart (high tenor). Their first recorded single entitled "Oh How I Love Her" b/w "You Can't Believe in Love," was released in 1965 on Liberty Records. This recording was done in the Sta-Phillips studio in the Americana hotel on Broadway in Manhattan. This was the same studio that the Four Seasons did all their recording in. Neil Levenson, who wrote "Oh, How I Love Her" for The Cordials, also wrote the hit song "Denise" for Randy and the Rainbows. Before cutting their first record, The Cordials won second prize in a contest at the famed Apollo Theatre. In 1967, The Cordials recorded their first full-length album entitled "Acappella Blue-Eyed Soul" for the Catamount Records label, which was well received and met with much critical acclaim at the time. Today, that album is considered an acappella classic. The group eventually disbanded in the late 1960s, due to some of it's members being drafted during the Vietnam war. Their classic album is presented here newly remastered for this exclusive release. .
