A featured vocalist with Paul William's orchestra on a 1947 session for the Savoy label, Alex Thomas, known as Playboy Thomas also recorded a single under his own name for the Swing Time label in 1953, and another for the Chicago based Parrot label that same year. It's also rumored that he also went by the name of Muddy Walters (notice the "L"). Nevertheless, this mysterious bluesman was a highly talented singer as evidenced by the few recordings he left behind. Featured here is his excellent single for Parrot - the self penned "Too Much Pride" b/w "No Doubt About It," presented here newly remastered for this exclusive release and finally made available in the digital domain.
