Recorded during the height of anti-war protests in America, this 14-track collection focuses on the issues of civil rights and the Vietnam War. Contributing songs and performances are Frederick Douglass Kirkpatrick ("Good Morning, Mr. Hudson," "Farewell, Mr. Charlie," and "Nothin' But His Blood"), Wesley Houston ("Elijah Good" and "To Be a Killer"), Mike Millius ("Not Enough to Live On," "Hey, Mr. Rockefeller," and "The Ballad of Martin Luther King"), Jimmy Collier ("The Pickaxe and a Stone"), Tom Parrott ("Pinkville Helicopter"), and a performance of "Hell No, I Ain't Gonna Go" by Matthew Jones complete with a horn section. This last performance was perhaps influenced by the musical Hair. Liner notes accompany the recording.
