Beginning his career performing with legendary bluegrass pioneers Bill Monroe and Flatt and Scruggs, Mac Wiseman went on to be one of the driving forces behind the development of bluegrass and country music across America. Characterised by his smooth tenor vocal and his ability to infuse traditional bluegrass and folk songs with his own unique style, he was also an accomplished songwriter, penning classic bluegrass tunes such as 'Jimmy Brown the Newsboy' and 'Love Letters in the Sand'. Wiseman's influence over bluegrass music continued throughout his long career, and his contributions to the genre earned him a place in the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
